Mass times may change for Holy Days, holidays, special celebrations, funerals, and other circumstances. Please check the current schedule before visiting.

Visiting for the First Time?

You do not need to be a registered parishioner to attend Mass at St. Pio Parish.

If you are visiting for the first time, we recommend arriving a few minutes early. This gives you time to find the location, park, enter the church, and get settled before Mass begins.

You are not expected to know everything about our parish before you arrive.

If you have a question, please ask. Our greeters, ushers, volunteers, parishioners, and staff are happy to help you find your way.

Whether you are visiting for Mass, a sacrament, a parish event, or simply exploring the parish, you are welcome here.

What Can I Expect at Mass?

Mass at St. Pio follows the universal liturgy of the Catholic Church.

Our parish community gathers together in prayer and worship and celebrates the Eucharist.

If you are Catholic and properly disposed to receive Holy Communion, you are welcome to receive according to the teachings and discipline of the Catholic Church.

If you are not Catholic, are not prepared to receive Holy Communion, or choose not to receive, you are still warmly welcome to join us in prayer.

If you have questions about the Catholic faith, the Mass, or the sacraments, please speak with a priest or contact the parish.

Bringing Your Family?

Children and families are an important part of the life of St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish.

Families are welcome at Mass and throughout parish life. We encourage parents and guardians to help their children grow in faith and become active members of the Church.

Our parish provides opportunities for children and young people through Faith Formation and Religious Education.

Visiting for a Sacrament?

A visit to St. Pio may be connected to one of the most important moments in your life or the life of your family.

Our parish accompanies individuals and families throughout the sacramental life of the Catholic Church.

If you are preparing for a sacrament, please visit the appropriate section of our website for information about preparation and parish requirements.

Coming for Parish Life?

St. Pio Parish is more than a place to attend Mass. Parish life gives us opportunities to pray together, learn about our faith, serve others, and build relationships with one another.

You may find yourself getting involved in a ministry at Mass, joining a prayer group, supporting a parish organization, participating in Religious Education, or helping our neighbors through parish outreach.

Some of the opportunities available at St. Pio include:

Liturgical Ministries

Serve the Church during the celebration of Mass through ministries such as Altar Servers, Lectors, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

Prayer and Devotion

Grow in prayer with opportunities such as our Rosary Group and other parish devotional activities.

Parish Organizations

Become involved with parish organizations such as the Knights of Columbus Councils #44 & #3300 and the Ladies Guild.

Outreach & Service

Put your faith into action through parish outreach, including efforts connected with the East Haven Food Pantry, St. Bernadette Food Pantry, and Cards of Care.

There are many ways to become part of parish life. Explore our Ministries page to find an opportunity that interests you.
