Faith Formation
Faith formation is an essential part of the life of St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish. As a parish family, we are called not only to celebrate our faith, but also to continually learn, grow, and deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
Faith formation is a lifelong journey. It begins in childhood and continues throughout every stage of life. Through opportunities for children, young people, adults, and families, our parish seeks to create opportunities to encounter Christ, learn about the Catholic faith, grow in prayer, and live out the Gospel in our daily lives.
As one parish with three churches, we are committed to providing opportunities for our entire parish family to grow together in faith. Our faith formation programs support parents and families in their role as the first teachers of the faith while providing additional opportunities for learning, prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth within our parish community.
Growing in Faith at Every Stage of Life
Faith formation takes many forms. For some, it may begin with a child’s first experiences learning about Jesus and preparing to receive the Sacraments. For others, it may be the opportunity to explore the Catholic faith more deeply, prepare to enter the Church, study Sacred Scripture, or simply continue growing in a relationship with Christ.
Our parish offers a variety of opportunities to meet people where they are on their faith journey.
Religious Education
Our Religious Education program provides faith formation for children and young people, helping them learn about Jesus Christ, Sacred Scripture, the teachings of the Catholic Church, prayer, and the Sacraments.
Through classroom instruction, prayer, and participation in the life of the parish, students are given opportunities to grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith and develop a stronger relationship with Christ.

OCIA
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process through which adults who are interested in becoming Catholic can learn about the Catholic faith and discern their call to enter into full communion with the Church.
OCIA is also available to baptized Catholics who have not yet received all of the Sacraments of Christian Initiation. Through prayer, instruction, reflection, and participation in the life of the Church, participants are invited to deepen their relationship with Christ and discover the richness of the Catholic faith.
Bible Camp
Bible Camp provides children with an opportunity to encounter Sacred Scripture in a welcoming and engaging environment.
Through activities, lessons, prayer, fellowship, and hands-on experiences, children are encouraged to discover the Word of God and learn how their faith connects with their everyday lives.
Bible Camp is an opportunity for children to grow in faith while experiencing the joy of learning, sharing, and participating in the life of our parish community.
Continuing Your Faith Journey
Faith formation does not end with a particular grade level, Sacrament, or program. We are called throughout our lives to continue learning about our faith and growing closer to Christ.
As opportunities become available, our parish seeks to provide additional ways for adults and families to deepen their knowledge of Scripture and Church teaching, strengthen their prayer lives, and discover new ways to live out their faith.
Whether you are beginning your journey, returning to the practice of your faith, preparing for a Sacrament, or simply looking for an opportunity to learn more, there is always an opportunity to take another step forward.
Faith Formation as a Parish Family
Faith formation is not something we do alone. Parents, families, catechists, clergy, volunteers, and the entire parish community each have an important role in passing on and living out the Catholic faith.
As a parish family, we support one another in answering Christ’s call to “go and make disciples.” Through education, prayer, worship, fellowship, and service, we seek to create an environment where people of all ages can encounter Christ and grow as His disciples.
Our three churches may have their own traditions, communities, and histories, but we share one faith and one mission as St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish.
