Deacon Wayne Sandford serves the people of St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish as a permanent deacon, bringing to his ministry a lifelong commitment to faith, service, and the East Haven community.

Deacon Wayne has been part of the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish community since 2017. Through his ministry, he assists at Mass and other liturgical celebrations, proclaims the Gospel, and supports the spiritual and pastoral life of the parish.

Before and alongside his ministry in the Church, Deacon Wayne dedicated many years to public service and community leadership. His service to the people of East Haven and the State of Connecticut has shaped his understanding of leadership, responsibility, and the importance of being there for others. He continues that spirit of service through his ministry as a deacon.

At St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, Deacon Wayne seeks to put his faith into action through his presence among parishioners, his support of parish ministries, and his service to the wider community. He strives to be a source of encouragement and support as parishioners live out their faith each day.

As a permanent deacon, Deacon Wayne is called to serve Christ and His Church through the Word, the Liturgy, and charity. His ministry reflects the call to serve others with humility and compassion while helping our parish grow together in faith.

Deacon Wayne is grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish and to help our parish continue its mission as One Family in Christ.
