About Council 44
Rodrigo Council 44 is the oldest continuous Council and is affectionately known as the “Live Council.” We celebrated our 125th Anniversary in June 2013.
We meet on the third Saturday of every month at 10:00 AM at the Old Convent. Our council is committed to serving our parish, community, and those in need through various charitable efforts.
Our Charitable Work
Council 44 is involved in a wide variety of charitable activities to support our Parish and community. Some of our key contributions include:
- Ushers: Many of our members serve as Ushers at Mass.
- Church Maintenance: Volunteers help to clean and maintain the Church.
- Monthly Rosary: We sponsor a Monthly Rosary to promote devotion.
- Parish Events: Volunteers participate in our Parish Carnival and Food Festival.
- Clothing Drive: We organize and support our annual clothing drives.
- Parish Raffle and Food Festival: Council 44 helps cover the expenses for these important Parish fundraisers.
Supporting the Needy
We are deeply committed to helping the less fortunate in our community:
- Feeding the Elderly & Homeless: We prepare and deliver meals to the elderly, those in need, and local homeless shelters on a monthly basis.
- Food Pantry: Volunteers assist at our Parish Food Pantry to provide support for those struggling to make ends meet.
Financial Support for the Parish
Council 44 also provides significant financial contributions to support the parish:
- Annual Donations: We donate over $10,000 annually to support parish needs.
- Ministry Support: Our Council takes on the financial burden for many of the parish’s important ministries, ensuring their continued success.
Annual Events and Masses
- First Responder Mass: Each year, we sponsor an Annual Mass to honor our first responders and show appreciation for their service.
