Sacramental Preparation for Adults
It is our mission to welcome and encourage those seeking to become Catholic or complete their sacraments. This is a journey of faith for not only for those seeking God but for all of us. We are on a mission to Evangelize and bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to all we meet by sharing our faith, proclaiming the Good News and building a loving relationship with our God. We teach the elements of our faith and help our seekers develop a life of prayer and live the Christian life. We meet at Mass to hear the word of God, offer prayers and share in the Eucharist.

Bible Studies
Mondays at 7:00 PM | St. Vincent De Paul Parish Center, 80 Taylor Ave. East Haven, CT 06512
Our group meets in the Small Christian Group format. This is designed to reflect on the readings and gospel for upcoming Sunday; to listen to the Word and reflect on how the readings affect us in our life and what we feel Jesus is saying to us and what our response would be. This spiritual sharing is designed to make us more aware of the coming week’s scripture readings so that we can better concentrate on the Celebration of the Eucharist during mass.

We study an in-depth analysis of the upcoming Sunday's liturgy
Using many resources, we pull apart the readings line by line with an emphasis on words (sometimes roots being Greek), ancient culture, places (use of maps) and new names.
The Bible dictionary is used to explain many unknown names and places.
Internet resources, including images of components of the various books
and weekly handouts of relevant articles, saints of the day and inspirational verses are also used.
With discussion from the participants, we have a full 1 1/2 hours, starting with prayers for the sick & deceased people we know.
The study begins at 7 pm ( with personal discussions and updates from everyone) and end at 9 pm.
Currently, the group which varies from 8-15 people, enjoy the many, behind-the-scenes details we discuss.
These details truly make the Sunday readings more understandable and "come alive."
